SMAD 252: Copywriting for Advertising

SMAD 252 laid the groundwork for copyrighting in advertising. I learned to write creative copy for brands, examine client problems, and write compelling stories. This course focused on writing compelling scripts with an emphasis on creative briefing and strategy.

I worked alongside group members Alexandra Farber, Anna Jeffery, and Louisa Mattozzi to create these projects. Together we produced a mini social media campaign and a TV ad for “I Can Read!” children’s books, as well as a radio and print ad for Cafe Bustelo coffee. Together we analyzed different demographics, target audiences, brand/product personalities, mediums, and big ideas to make the final products of these ads.
